Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, SlopeSide Window Cleaning cleans both interior and exterior panes. Just like with a pair of sunglasses, cleaning only one side doesn't give you the full benefit. For the clearest view and the most vibrant light, it's best to clean both sides of your windows at least once per year. A thorough cleaning inside and out ensures your home feels brighter and your windows are practically invisible.

  • Absolutely!

Alaska has many unorthodox and elevated windows. SlopeSide Window Cleaning can address them safely and thoroughly

  • You do not have to be present for your window cleaning, unless you would prefer.

You can hide a key, or provide the passcode to your door if access inside is required for your window cleaning.

If any dogs are inside, I do ask for someone be present initially, so that we can be introduced properly!

  • Sure thing. The initial window cleaning after a new-build or remodel is the most important window cleaning you will have. Removing paint, adhesive, wood stain and other construction debris safely from the windows is something that SlopeSide Cleaning can certainly do for you.

Attention to detail is required to correctly perform a post-construction window cleaning. Different types of glass have different nuances that must be approached correctly to avoid damage. Sadly, many windows become damaged due to improper post-construction window cleanings. If you inspect many local windows closely you will see the signs, especially in the evening sunlight.

Ensure the safety of your new glass by choosing SlopeSide Cleaning for your post-construction window cleaning needs.

A certificate of insurance is included with each quote, for your peace of mind.

  • Windows are still cleaned during the rain. Rainwater here is extremely pure, and will not leave spots when it dries. It even aids in that it acts as a “pre-soak” for sun-baked dirt and debris. The worst part about cleaning on rainy days (aside from being wet and cold), is that the results are not as apparent until the sun comes out and shines on the panes.

A 7-Day rain guarantee is included with each cleaning for your peace of mind.

Which means that If a rainstorm compromises your freshly cleaned glass within 7 days of your cleaning, you will be taken care of!

  • The water-fed pole system is a window cleaning tool SlopeSide Window Cleaning sometimes uses for exterior windows and window frames.

Have you ever noticed that rainwater doesn't leave spots on your glass when it dries? That's because rainwater is typically pH neutral and low in minerals. Naturally filtered. In the past, window cleaners often utilized rainwater for its spot-free drying qualities.

Current water-fed pole systems operate by filtering regular tap water through three stages of filtration: carbon, reverse osmosis, and de-ionizing. The triple-filtered water flows through a small hose within a telescopic cleaning pole. At the pole's head is a brush (or a window-safe scrub pad) used to safely clean and agitate the glass. Purified water flows from small jets inside the brush, effectively rinsing away dirt and particles. No squeegee is needed; the remaining water dries spot-free (if you do it right!)

It's an great tool to have in the arsenal. However there are mixed feelings about water-fed poles. Often because newer window cleaners over rely on it, and use it in circumstances where it is not the ideal option. A tool is only as effective as the person using it. Each tool has a time and a place, depending on the circumstances. Traditional window cleaning (hand squeegee) is the most commonly used during cleanings.

  • Yes! While based in Girdwood, SlopeSide Cleaning does offer window cleaning services to surrounding areas

  • It really depends on how many windows you have, how high or large they are, and how accessible your windows may be.

SlopeSide Window Cleaning focuses on quality and attention to detail. The initial window window cleaning will take the longest.

  • Drawing the window blinds, and removing any plants/ objects / furniture that is directly blocking the windows is always greatly appreciated!

Most furniture can remain were it is, by simply covering it with a protective drop cloth and cleaning around it. As long as the furniture is not significantly blocking access to your glass, it’s probably fine. If interior ladder work is required, sometimes furniture will need to be moved to ensure a safe ladder angle can be achieved.
